Rye and the surrounding area has a wealth of fun activities to suit all ages. It is located within two miles of local beaches including Camber Sands (vast sandy beach with dunes) and Winchelsea Beach (pebbles). These beaches are accessible with a bus ride from Rye as well as by car. There are water sports available at Rye Watersports, on the road to Camber Sands including windsurfing, kitesurfing and much more.   The prestigious Rye Golf Club is just a short drive away.  There are numerous forest walks nearby, and the area is renowned for its bird watching opportunities and an abundance of nature reserves.

The pebble beaches of Hastings are only 12 miles (or a short train ride) away , with seaside attractions, the Bluereef Aquarium and the new Jerwood art gallery.
