AN HISTORIC PLACE TO VISIT

The Artist’s Cottage is situated in the heart of the ancient citadel of Rye. The beautiful streets of Rye are jammed full of history, culture, cafes and antiques shops. Many happy hours can be spent wondering around this small but fascinating town.  Rye Heritage centre hosts a beautiful model of the town brought to life in an informative light show, which is an interesting way to learn more of the varied and colourful events of the town’s history . Rye museum and the Ypres tower with the gun garden outside is well worth a visit. The town is home to many artists and there are plenty of galleries to browse.

Battle, a beautiful small town hosting the 1066 Battle of Hastings Abbey and Battleground is just a short drive away. This English Heritage site offers a fantastic day out for adults and children alike.
